In this blog, I’m going to walk you through how I mix sand and cement in a mechanical mixer for tiling work. Over the years, I’ve developed a method that works efficiently and gives great results for all kinds of jobs, from bathrooms to patios, or anywhere a sand and cement bed is required.

I’ll start by showing you the exact ratio I use for mixing the sand and cement, along with tips on how it should look once it's properly mixed. This method ensures the right consistency and strength, making it perfect for preparing surfaces that need a solid base before laying tiles. I find this way of mixing it particularly easy to spread and screed, which helps speed up the whole process.

Additionally, I add BondCrete into the mix. This gives the mixture extra strength and durability, making it even more reliable for high-quality tiling work.

Keep in mind, this is how I approach the mixing process, and it’s the method I’ve found to be the most effective and professional. However, it doesn’t mean this is the only way to do it. Every project is different, and it’s always a good idea to seek professional advice or refer to specific manufacturer guidelines to ensure you're using the right techniques for your job.
